About The Village

We started the Olde Village Depot as a means of advertising for primitive, colonial, and country websites.  There are numerous advertising websites but most have the same general look and feel.  We wanted to make available a place that stood out from the competition.  We have worked day and night for weeks designing and coming up with some different advertising options. We feel that we have designed a bit of a different look, going more for the primitive colonial feel.  This doesn't mean that we don't like the more extreme primitives, we do.  We will rely on our clients logos and banners to add that element to our site.

We have done extensive research of search engine optimization and we will work continuously to get a high page rank with the search engines.  We will always treat our clients with the utmost respect to ensure a great professional relationship.  Our goal is to bring high targeted traffic to our clients websites. We will not use link farms, pay per clicks, traffic exchange, and etc. to get traffic.  Those kinds of gimmicks will not get targeted traffic.

Due to the amount of work involved in this new endeavor and the time we will need to spend promoting this business we have decided to close our old candle store, "Mamma's Primitive Hut."  We will still make tarts and some grubby tapers and other primitive wax products.  We will not be offering container candles except through our fundraiser program.  We will also still offer candle parties.  We have renamed our candle business, "Ye Olde Village Candle Shoppe."  It is designed to blend in with the "Olde Village Depot" enabling us to easily maintain both sites and also to keep with our new theme, Primitive Colonial.

On a more personal note, we are a mother & daughter team with strong family values.  Diana Bays is the mother of Amanda Arnold and we are the proud mother and grandmother of Alexis Arnold who is also a partner.  She is almost 2 years old and she works very hard rearranging our files (she calls them important papers) and helping us with the computer work.

We are from a small farming community in Southern Indiana on the edge of a large Amish Community.  We went to school with and have worked along side the Amish and have a great respect for them and their values.  Living in this community has given us a greater understanding of hard work and a greater respect for and dedication to our family.  There is nothing more important than the love and closeness of a wonderful family.  We aim to make our clients our business family and because of our strong family values we will always treat you with respect and work hard to give you the best advertising options so we may all prosper.

Diana Bays,
Amanda & Alexis Arnold
